Fabio worked for eight years from 1982 to 1990 as a risk underwriter for Large Customers at a leading insurance company specializing in the Suretyship branch.

He then joined Mediocredito Centrale where from 1990 to 1994 he dealt with requests for the disbursement of the contribution due pursuant to Law 227 (Ossola Law) to companies benefitting from export financing (triangu currency operations), and with the financial provision disbursed by Mediocredito through loans from the European Investment Bank.

From 1994 to 2002 he supervised the controls of the investigation and the disbursement of the benefit pursuant to articles 6, 8 and 12 of Law 317/91.

From 2002 to 2023 he supervised the control of the investigation of the acceptances of the financial operations guaranteed by the National Guarantee Fund Law 662/96, and subsequent the related investigation of the liquidation of losses.

During the same period, he also supervised the investigation of the incentive provided for by Articles 103 and 106 of Law 388/2000 relating to the granting of financial advances for minority participation in start-up companies operating in innovative technological sectors, and the subsequent management of the aforementioned
participations.

After completing classical studies, he graduated in Economics in 1981 at La Sapienza University of Rome with top marks and honors, discussing a thesis in Applied Statistics in the Health Expenditure sector with Prof. Enrico Nenna.
