Pierluigi Testa holds a cum laude degree in Economics from Sapienza University of Rome and an Executive MBA from LUISS. Admitted to the Ordinary Session of the Institute for Advanced Defense Studies (IASD), his professional journey has been marked by his dual role as an economist and expert in marketing, institutional relations, and international investor relations.
He was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by decree of President Sergio Mattarella on June 2, 2017, upon the proposal of Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni Silveri.
Testa has gained extensive experience within national and multinational companies in both industry and services sectors. Since 2015, he has supported Italian businesses in their internationalization processes.
As the Founder and President of the Think Tank ‘Trinità dei Monti’, he has engaged with national and international political, economic, diplomatic, and academic institutions on various topics, including economic scenarios, finance, business, cultural heritage management, foreign elections, constitutional referenda, corruption issues, infrastructure, and the digital revolution.
Since July 2020, he has served as the President of Alumni Economia Sapienza, an association of Economics graduates from Sapienza University of Rome, including prominent figures in Italian economic and financial institutions.
In 2023, he was admitted to the Italian Economic Society.
In 2021, he participated as a European Leader in the ‘International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)’ at the invitation of the U.S. Department of State. In 2023, he visited the Pentagon and the U.S. Department of State with other European leaders to discuss international conflicts and traveled to North Carolina, Arizona, and Michigan to meet political, academic, and business representatives.
Since 2013, he has been a member of the Anglo-Italian Pontignano Forum, representing Italy. Starting in 2017, he has regularly participated in preparatory meetings for the Forum at Villa Wolkonsky in Rome.
He has been a Board Advisor for the Italy-Kosovo Chamber of Commerce since May 2020 and a member of the Club Italie-France since June 2022. He has also been a member of the Economic Diplomacy Council of the Naples Chamber of Commerce since 2019 and served on the Scientific Committee of the Italian Atlantic Committee (NATO) – Naples (2017-2019).
Testa is the Head of Institutional Relations for the geopolitical magazine ‘Transatlantico.info‘ and a columnist for leading international publications such as the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Independent, and Politico.
He regularly participates in international economic forums as a moderator or panelist, including the Krynica Economic Forum, Forum of New Ideas in Sopot, Rome Diplomacy Festival, and the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee. He has also been a guest at the School of Advanced Political Education organized by Italiadecide and the Presidency of the Regional Council of Valle D’Aosta.
He structured and managed a course in Economic Journalism and Corporate Communication at Sapienza University of Rome and has delivered lectures and seminars at various institutions – including the Bank of Italy, European Union Representation in Italy, Chamber of Deputies, High Defense Studies Center, and UniCredit – and numerous public and private universities in Italy and abroad – including the London School of Economics and Political Science, Tbilisi State University, LUISS, LUMSA, the University of Naples “Federico II,” and the Apple Center/iOS Academy.
He is the author of several articles and publications, including the recent study “L’Italia tra vent’anni (Italy in Twenty Years)”.
Member of the Italian Foreign Affairs Club and an enthusiast of high-altitude mountaineering and triathlon, which he practiced for ten years.
