Pierluigi Testa holds a cum laude degree in Economics from Sapienza University of Rome, Executive MBA from LUISS and a Master’s in Leadership & Management from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He was admitted to the Ordinary Session of the Italian Institute for Advanced Defense Studies (IASD) and is a member of the Italian Economic Association.

His professional background combines the experience of an economist with that of an expert in institutional and international relations and investor relations, alongside entrepreneurial activity in the social care and silver economy sectors. He has worked within leading Italian listed companies and multinational corporations across industry and services, and since 2015 has been assisting Italian enterprises in their internationalization strategies.

He was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by decree of President Sergio Mattarella on June 2, 2017, upon the proposal of Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni Silveri.

He is the Founder and President of the Think Tank Trinità dei Monti, through which he has engaged for years with national and international political, economic, diplomatic, and academic institutions on issues concerning economic, legal, and geopolitical dynamics at both local and global levels. Within the think tank, he has promoted research and high-level debate on topics ranging from economics and finance to business strategy, cultural heritage management, foreign elections, constitutional reform, corruption, infrastructure, and the digital revolution, among others.

He currently serves as:

– Adjunct Professor of Leadership at University Canada West, Vancouver.

– Non-Resident Research Associate at the Global Institute for Strategic Research (GISR), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and the Qatar Foundation.

– Herald of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (since 2024).

– Board Member of the Italy-Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (since May 2020) and Member of Club Italie-France (since June 2022).

– Member (since 2013) – representing Italy – of the Anglo-Italian Pontignano Forum, which brings together 100 leading figures (50 British and 50 Italian) from politics, business, journalism, and academia to discuss key issues between the two countries. Since 2017 he has regularly taken part in the Forum’s preparatory meetings at Villa Wolkonsky in Rome.

– Commentator and contributor for major international media outlets such as the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Independent, and Politico.

He is a regular participant, as moderator or panelist, in major international economic forums, including the Krynica Economic Forum, Forum of New Ideas in Sopot, Diplomacy Festival in Rome, and the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee. He was also a guest of the High School of Political Education organized by Italiadecide and the Regional Council of Valle d’Aosta.

He has served as:

– President of Alumni Economia Sapienza (July 2020 – September 2025), the association of Economics graduates of Sapienza University of Rome, which gathers many of the country’s leading economic and institutional figures. Previously (April 2013 – July 2020) he was Vice President, with responsibility for relations with the industrial sector.

– European Leader within the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) of the U.S. Department of State (2021). In 2023, under the same program, he visited the Pentagon and the U.S. Department of State with a delegation of 11 European leaders to discuss international conflicts, and later traveled to North Carolina, Arizona, and Michigan to meet political, academic, and business representatives.

– Member of the Advisory Council for Economic Diplomacy of the Naples Chamber of Commerce (2019–2024).

– Member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Atlantic Committee (NATO) in Naples (2017–2019).

– Head of Institutional Relations for the geopolitical magazine Transatlantico.info.

He conceived and coordinated a university course in Economic Journalism and Corporate Communication at Sapienza University of Rome, and has lectured or held seminars in leading institutions, including the Bank of Italy (Palazzo Koch), the European Union Representation in Italy (Palazzo Campanari), the Chamber of Deputies (Sala Regina and Nilde Iotti Halls), the Higher Defense Studies Center (Palazzo Salviati), and UniCredit (Palazzo De Carolis), as well as in public and private universities in Italy and abroad – including the London School of Economics and Political Science, Tbilisi State University, LUISS, LUMSA, the University of Naples “Federico II” (Faculties of Social and Political Sciences), and the Apple Center/iOS Academy, among others.

He is the author of various articles and publications, including the 2017 study “L’Italia tra vent’anni (Italy in Twenty Years)” published by the Trinità dei Monti Think Tank and the 2019 paper “The Post-War… in 2019”.

He is a Member of the Italian Foreign Affairs Club.

A passionate mountaineer and triathlete, he practiced triathlon for ten years.
